In this project, I created an alternative poster for the psychological horror film “Midsommar,” by Ari Aster. In this poster, the inspirations come from old Swedish border designs, faded colors and worn textures. I created this elaborate border filled with small references to the film, along with this center, illustrative Swedish rune that is a part of the film. This specific rune symbolizes sacrifice, so I tried to incorporate elements of death(skulls) and life(florals). All of these flowers were inspired by wild flowers found in various parts of Sweden.
